i had a lovely stay at karaka tree while celebrating a wedding. the mineral spa was fantastic and really helped me unwind after days of festivities. overall, it exceeded my expectations with its spacious room and easy access to local attractions.

Perfect spot for a getaway

We had a cozy stay in a spacious One-Bedroom Suite, which was super dog-friendly! The location was ideal, just a short walk to the lakeside for some great trails. It’s a bummer the Wi-Fi was non-existent, though. The local cafes were a nice surprise for breakfast, too!

Emergency housing nearby provides noisy disruptions at night!!! Poor maintenance throughout the property, such as broken smoke detectors and leaking taps!!! Rooms lacking thorough cleaning before check-in leave much to be desired!!!

Families will find it decent

Staff was friendly and helpful. The mineral spa bath, filling it myself, let me customize the heat for a nice soak while my baby enjoyed hers which was filled for her. It was a nice treat for my family during our stay.

It wasn't cheap but it was acceptable.

I had a lovely experience staying here, especially enjoying the private spa with thermal mineral water that made for a luxurious soak after a day of exploring, and the easy access to the beautiful Waipahihi Botanical Gardens was a perfect spot for a scenic walk during my city strolls.

The check-in process was welcoming, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure the lights were on and the fridge stocked with milk for our late arrival. The private mineral spa was a highlight, providing a luxurious way to unwind after a long day. the older building showed some wear, and the noise from nearby emergency housing disrupted our sleep at times.
